Chicago Ford Dealer | Buss Ford
A quality Chicago Ford dealer is one that takes the time to constantly update its lineup of vehicles, and also one that likes spending a lot of time with its customers. Here at Buss Ford Lincoln Mercury serving Chicago, Illinois we do just that. The gorgeous city of Chicago, nicknamed "The Windy City", is the largest city in the state of Illinois. According to statistics, well over 9 million people populate the Chicago area, making it one of the most populated cities in the United States. Chicago was founded in the year 1833. At the time, the Potawatomi Native Americans were occupying the land area. Unfortunately, this tribe had to abandon the area by force under the Treaty of Chicago. The city quickly grew once it was taken over by white settlers and became a sprawling transportation and telecommunications locale in the United States. During the 1920's, the gangster era arrived, and the infamous Al Capone ran an illegal bootlegging operation all over the city, selling alcohol during the Prohibition Era and earning big time bucks. These gangs went head to head with local law enforcement, and things looked pretty bleak for the city of Chicago during this time. Eventually Prohibition was lifted, and the gangs began to disappear. Al Capone himself was caught and arrested, so the city began to get back on its feet and move forward.
Industries started to flourish throughout the 20's and 30's, and numerous Southern African Americans flocked to the area (this surge actually began around 1910 and continued into the 30's) looking for jobs and also bringing their unique culture along with them. Chicago became a huge Jazz center, and people walking along the streets could hear the fine tunes of Jazz music playing in the local pubs and all around. Modern day Chicago is quite large in scope and size. The Sears tower dominates the skyscraper category and is the largest building in the city and one of the tallest in the world. Chicago is also located off the southwestern shores of Lake Michigan, and this means Chicago gets a huge tourist industry. People flock to this area for boating, windsurfing, and summer fun out by the lake. The winters may be cold in Chicago, but that does not stop Chicago Ford dealers from serving this large sized city (Some of the historical information was gained from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago).
