To achieve that maximum number, you’ll need the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine and the proper configuration — either the SuperCab with an 8-foot box or a SuperCrew® with 4x2 and the Max. Trailer Tow Package.

The maximum towing capacity for your truck is determined by subtracting the curb weight of the truck (its empty weight) and the payload onboard (you, your passengers, and your cargo) from the gross combination weight rating (GCWR) that was determined by Ford.
